The Tower!

Hello all :) this month has been quiet, yet also busy. The novel is coming along leaps and bounds and last night on the eve of my 23rd birthday, I spent my time editing and researching the grave cattle plague of 1319... not remotely cheerful but a lot of pleasure was drawn from it.

In regards to my actual birthday, I still find it brilliant that my favourite monarch, the impregnable Edward III married Philippa of Hainault on this day in 1328 :) unfortunately however, myself and the boy live nowhere near York Minster so we settled upon visiting the Tower of London instead. He had never been and as I hadn't been there for 10 years, it seemed like a rather flawless plan (and it was!). The rain held off and we snapped up some pretty snazzy pictures! Please excuse my old topshop coat and flyaway hair (i had it cut and thinned out the other day but it still manages to go completely mental) *rolls eyes*.

(my boy is called martin so the last picture is quite appropriate) ;)

We ended up the day in true fashion in Giraffe at Westfields. The boy got cod, chips and mashy peas, and i got my veggie noodles, yum!

So as not to disappoint, here is an outfit picture (slightly blurry =p)

Happy New Year

I cannot believe it is the 4th January already! Time definitely flies by as you get older, before we know it, it'll be Christmas again.

Fitting in my writing around my job is going fairly well, am averaging on typing up around 800-900 words each evening whilst the boy either watches a movie or plays on his Dreamcast (such a 90s child). I could not have done anything like this without his support, so for that am very grateful.

Onto the pictures; the first photo was taken last weekend when we visited Colchester again, this time however, we did not grab food in The Play House, but went to Yates instead and to our surprise, the food was very nice (crayfish salad for me, burger and chips for the boy). It was a good day and I found a lovely floral number in Topshop (a size UK 4/US 0), could not believe it when I tried it on and it felt perfect... maybe I did not eat enough over the Christmas period *le sigh*.
The dress beneath the coat is a Christmas present from the boy, I think it is still in Topshop :)

This, is another Colchester purchase; a vintage Jigsaw blazer (£7), its a UK 10 and is a bit big, but the deep green colour is beautiful and I could not leave the shop without it :)

velvet shorts - topshop (£25, reduced from £32)

We are planning to visit Sudbury in the next few weeks and for my birthday on the 24th, we shall be going to the Tower of London. The last time I went there was 10 years ago so of course I am full of excitement :)
